Richard Skinner - Director - BA Hons, Dip Arch, RIBA 3
Studied at the University of Brighton for RIBA 1 graduating in 2000. After working for a number of contractors and developers spent a year working for a large Architectural Modelmaker in London. Studied for RIBA 2 at the University of North London (now LMU) under East graduating in 2004. Architectural Assistant at David Wood Architects for two years working on, and then running through to completion, a number of large mixed tenure housing developments for two large contractor/ developers. Worked for pH+ Architects running a number of high-end domestic renovation projects for private clients. Completed Examination in Professional Practice (RIBA 3) whilst working for pH+ in 2007. Set up ARCHEA in April 2010.
Mai-ling Leung - Director - BA Hons, Graphic Design
Studied at Central St Martins College of Art and Design graduating in 1998 with a BA Hons in Graphic Design. Co-founder of directing duo ‘Local’ represented by Rose Hackney Barber, earning nominations for a number of prestigious music video awards. Went on to work as a freelance graphic designer and animator. Nine years experience as a freelance digital photographer/ studio manager. Set up ARCHEA in April 2010.
Luke Miles - Architect ARB - BA Hons, Dip Arch, RIBA 3
Studied at London Metropolitan University extended degree for RIBA 1 with Public Works and Pie Architecture, graduating in 2012. Returned to The CASS (LMU) for RIBA 2, studying with the Free Unit led by Prof. Robert Mull, and Unit 10 led by Signy Svalastoga, graduating in 2016. Luke has also been a visiting critic at LMU. A practiced landscape carpenter and construction professional since 2005 and architectural designer since 2011. Has designed, supervised and built micro architecture, exhibitions, interiors, and landscape intervention projects across commercial, charity, and residential sectors. Joined ARCHEA in March 2017 and completed Examination in Professional Practice (RIBA 3) in 2019.
Mariam Gulamhussein - Architectural Assistant - BA Hons, Dip Arch, RIBA 2
Studied at the University of Liverpool for RIBA 1 graduating in 2014, winning the Holt Travelling Fellowship as one of the highest achievers of her cohort. After working for a year in practice in Liverpool, Mariam moved to London to complete her RIBA Part 2 at The CASS (LMU), studying in Unit 10 led by Signy Svalastoga and Unit 8 led by Takero Shimazaki, graduating in 2017. Mariam has also been a visiting critic at the University of Liverpool. In 2015 Mariam was awarded the Venice Biennale Research Fellowship and more recently, in 2019, she received the Giles Worsley Fellowship from the British School at Rome. Joined ARCHEA in April 2018.
